This group is designed to help adults better understand their ADHD, develop practical skills for managing everyday challenges, and cultivate greater self-compassion.

Group Summary:

Through psychoeducation, guided exercises, and discussions with others who share similar experiences, participants will learn how ADHD uniquely shows up in their lives while building strategies to strengthen executive functioning and better navigate daily demands. The group aims to help individuals feel more confident, capable, and connected as they navigate life with ADHD.

  • You are currently experiencing an acute mental health crisis
  • You are unable to commit to regular attendance
  • Individual therapy would be more appropriate at this time

Introduction & ADHD 101

Meet fellow group members, review group expectations, and begin building a supportive learning environment. Participants will learn about the foundations of ADHD while exploring how ADHD uniquely shows up in their own lives.

Executive Skills

Explore the brain-based nature of ADHD and the executive functioning skills that support daily life. Participants will identify personal areas of challenge and strength related executive skills.

Emotional Regulation & Mindfulness

Learn how ADHD impacts emotional regulation. Participants will develop mindfulness-based strategies to increase awareness while building skills to respond more effectively to emotional challenges.

Shame & Self-Compassion

Examine the impact of self-criticism, shame, and negative self-beliefs that often develop alongside ADHD. Participants will learn self-compassion practices that foster resilience and self-acceptance.

ADHD & Connection

Explore how ADHD can influence communication, relationships, and social interactions. Participants will gain insight into common interpersonal challenges and practice strategies for authentic communication, self-advocacy, and connection.

Values & Committed Action

Identify personal values and explore how ADHD can create barriers to living in alignment with what matters most. Participants will learn strategies for setting meaningful goals and taking consistent action, even when motivation fluctuates.

Executive Skills Strategies & Goal Setting

Develop practical tools for managing attention, organization, planning and task initiation. Participants will create individualized goals and plans for applying these skills in everyday life.

Review & Wrap Up

Reflect on key insights, celebrate progress, and consolidate learning from the program. Participants will identify ongoing goals and discuss ways to maintain momentum after the group ends.

Every group develops its own rhythm, and participants are encouraged to engage at a pace that feels comfortable and appropriate.

Publicly Funded (OHIP) Group Therapy

Participants can access this program through OHIP-funded care, which requires a referral from a Nurse Practitioner or Physician.

Ask your Nurse Practitioner or Physician to refer you.

General Mental Health Assessment

Meet with a psychiatrist to review your medical and mental health history. The psychiatrist may recommend additional assessments, investigations, or medication optimization as appropriate.

Please note that ongoing psychiatric care is not provided through this program.

Group Treatment

Participate in weekly virtual group therapy sessions.

Feedback Appointment

At the conclusion of the program, you will meet with a psychiatrist to review your progress, discuss outcomes, and explore any additional treatment recommendations or supports that may be beneficial.
