How We Help

Medications | Psychotherapy | Lifestyle interventions
Our team collaborates with your referring provider to ensure continuity of care and to provide clear, actionable recommendations to support your mental health journey.

What Types of Conditions Can We Help With?
At Thrive Together Mental Wellness Centre, our child and adolescent psychiatrists are highly trained to assist with a variety of mental health concerns, including:
- Mood Disorders
- Anxiety Disorders
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Tics and Tourette Syndrome
- Trauma-Related Concerns
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Conditions Outside Our Scope
At this time, we do not provide consultations for the following primary concerns, as they require specialized care that is not currently available within our clinic:
- Bipolar Disorder
- Psychosis
- Eating Disorders
- Severe Substance Use Disorders
If these concerns are identified during one of our consultations, we will provide recommendations and referrals to other services better equipped to address these needs.
Referral Requirements
We require a referral from a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician who can provide ongoing care. This ensures a seamless transition and continuity of care after your consultation.
Do You Provide Long-Term Follow-Up?
At this time, we offer consultative care only. This means we provide detailed recommendations back to your other care providers. In some cases, consultations may involve multiple appointments to ensure a thorough assessment and comprehensive recommendations.
Our Referral Process:

Referral Submission
Once we receive your referral, we will contact you to gather additional information. This step helps us be more efficient and reduces wait times for all patients. It also allows us to be more efficient when we meet together for your appointment.

Questions You May Have
What if I don’t have access to primary care or prefer not to involve my primary care provider in my mental health care?
We collaborate with skilled psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (NPs) who can provide ongoing medication management. Please note that NP care is not currently funded by OHIP and is available only through private pay.
What if my primary care provider has questions about the treatment recommendations?
Our recommendations will include a detailed Medication Plan, where appropriate, specifying several medication options and outlining a titration schedule. If there are questions about the Medication Plan or your response to treatment, your primary care provider can consult with our clinic physicians by requesting an e-consultation or telephone call.
Do the Psychiatrists Provide OHIP funded Assessments to diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disorders, or Intellectual Disabilities?
Currently, we only provide medication consultations for patients with a prior psychological assessment (e.g., formal ASD assessment or psychoeducational assessment) that confirms the diagnosis.
For families seeking comprehensive assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Learning Disorders, or Intellectual Disabilities, some of our colleagues within the clinic offer these services through private pay options. Please contact us for more information on these services.
Do You Provide Consultations for Cases Involving Custody or Access Disputes or Forensic (Legal) issues?
We do not provide care for cases involving ongoing custody or access disputes or for issues related to legal matters. This is a specialized area of practice that falls outside the scope of our psychiatrists. We recommend seeking professionals who specialize in forensic or legal psychiatric services for these specific needs.
